First Aid, CPR, AED Training held at Rialto EOC
Nov 14, 2009: Eleven members of the Mountain CERT took part in CPR, AED, and First Aid training at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Rialto, CA. This 8-hour course prepares individuals to provide basic first aid, as well as the application of CPR. Students learn how to assess and determine if someone has had a seizure, stroke or heart attack. Training includes how to utilize an automated external defibrillator (AED) to help save the life of someone who has had a probable heart attack. Our dedicated CERT members gave up their entire Saturday for this training, for which we are tremendously grateful. Their training and dedication will be critical in the event of a major emergency and only adds to the readiness of our mountain CERT. You can see the pictures of the training in our CERT Gallery.
2nd Annual “Safety Fair” held at Lake Arrowhead Rim High
June 5, 2010: This annual safety preparedness event has expanded and was held in the parking lot of Rim High School on June 5th. Many of the preparedness and disaster response agencies, including Cal Fire, San Bernardino Fire Department, Sheriff’s Department, CHP, Fire Safe Council, Citizens On Patrol, Caltrans, and of course, CERT, were well represented at this year’s event.  Many of the pictures from this year’s fair are posted in our CERT Gallery.
CERT Teams kick off “Mountain Awareness” Campaign
June 5, 2010: In a project that will likely span the next couple of years, CERT members have started a campaign to deliver emergency preparedness information to every full-time resident on the mountain.  CERT members will go door-to-door to make sure that each resident is aware of the importance of personal family readiness in the event of a major disaster, especially earthquake preparedness, where the mountain could easily be isolated for days...perhaps weeks. Please welcome the CERT volunteers at your door and keep the disaster information handy.  BE PREPARED! If you are interested in beating the CERT members to your front door, you will find almost all of the preparedness information on this website.

CERT members participate in Green Valley Lake parade & BBQ
July 3, 2010: On July 4th weekend, your CERT members participated in the annual Green Valley Lake 4th of July parade and BBQ.  GVL was nearly wiped off the face of the map in the 2007 fires.  CERT members handed out preparedness information and participated in the parade.  See the photos on our Gallery Page.
Annual Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast is a CERT-ain success!
July 4, 2010: It just wouldn’t be 4th of July without the annual pancake breakfast in the Lake Arrowhead Village and Bank of America parking lot.  CERT members were present, not only to sample the cooking by some of the mountain’s finest Fire Department members, but to hand out preparedness information.  Check out our Gallery Page for photos of the 2010 event.
